Benjamin W. "Ben" Burkhart, 32, of Catawba Island and formerly of Bellevue, lost his battle to addiction that he had bravely fought for many years Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at his home.
He was born Dec. 23, 1990, in Bellevue, the son of Dennis and Traci (Lee) Burkhart.
Ben was a graduate of Bellevue High School. He was a self-employed contractor and loved his job. Ben loved to be outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing and hunting in eastern Kentucky or northern Ohio. His smile and warm personality will be missed as Ben had a knack for making anyone feel welcome and a friend.
He is survived by his parents, Dennis and Traci Burkhart of Bellevue; brother, Joseph Burkhart of Bellevue; sister, Bethani Burkhart of Bellevue; and nephew, Karson Burkhart of Bellevue.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Ben's graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, at Deyo Cemetery, Portland Road, Bellevue, Ohio, 44811.
Memorials may be made to the family for use throughout the community at various addiction recovery services.
