Gloria Suzanne Daniel Brake

Gloria Suzanne Daniel Brake, 79, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Ashton Grove in Georgetown, KY. Mrs. Brake was born July 15, 1945 in Greenville, KY to Inez and Charles Daniel. Suzanne grew up as a "Navy Brat", calling many places home during her childhood. She spent the majority of her adult life in Frankfort, KY. After graduating from high school, Suzanne attended Georgetown College, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She later received a Master's Degree and Rank I in Library Science from the University of Kentucky. Suzanne was a beloved educator, spending 27 years as a fifth-grade teacher and school librarian at Hearn Elementary.
FAITH, FAMILY, and FRIENDSHIP were core pillars of Suzanne's life. Her greatest achievement was raising her son, Clayton, into the confident man he is today. Her greatest love was her husband of nearly 33 years Deward (Dee) Brake, who she described as "the most handsome man she had ever seen." Her greatest joys came from seeing the happiness and health of her loved ones, sharing moments with her husband Dee, and being "KY" to her grandchildren. Her greatest comfort was in The Lord and her Salvation.
Suzanne holds a special place in the hearts of many, she is very loved and deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Inez and Charles Daniel; her husband, Deward Brake; and her nephew, Christopher Schulz.
Suzanne is survived by her son, Clayton Austin (Wendy) of Talent, OR; and her step-daughters, Teresa Weatherford of Clarksville, TN; Jeanine Livingstone (Steve) of St. Augustine, FL; and Allyson Miller (LTC Neal) of Lititz, PA; her sister, Frances Schulz of Ft.Wright, KY; and her brother, Paul Daniel (Elaine) of Myrtle Beach, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Madeline (Brian), Logan (Caitlin), Amanda, Erin, Olivia, Everett, Jennifer, and Julie; as well as her great-grandson, Julian, and many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date following her interment at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
