Ben hired me as a shoe saleman at Rathbun Outlet back in the early 1970's. I had just completed two years in the US Army. In addition, my wife, Liz, and I were new parents of our first child. I didn't know much of anything about selling shoes but Ben taught me well. He also saw to it that my working hours didn't interfere with my college classes. My 12 years at Rathbun with Ben and his mom and dad were some of the best years of my life.

I was shocked and sad to hear of Ben´s passing. We grew up together in Woonsocket and I remember going to his Bar Mitzfah. Marilyn and I went to Un of RI and remained good friends thoughout the years. Please accept my condolances.
