Benjamin Espiritu Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by River Woods Funeral Chapels - Des Plaines on Jan. 19, 2024.
Benjamin Espiritu, 74, of Mt Prospect passed away surrounded by his families loving care on January 14, 2024 after a courageous health battle. Benjamin was born in the Philippines and worked there as a police officer before he came to America to serve in the US Army.
After the Army he went to work security in Norwegian American Hospital where he met the love of his life, Rachelle Red. The two of them were in a committed relationship for over 26 years.
Benjamin enjoyed the simpler things in life, but loved to grow an intricate edible garden and prepare the literal fruits of his labor. He was the family chef and enjoyed serving his family.
Bowling and watching NBA Basketball games were also a treasured time, but nothing could beat time with his family. He is the proud father of Candice, Christina, and Jeffery.
Left to mourn his memory are his life partner Rachelle Red; his children Candice, Christina, and Jeffery Espiritu; his stepchildren Jonathan Montero, Jessica Ellwanger and Justin Red; his sister Adelaida Schuck and many other friends and family members.
Please come celebrate his life in a memorial Mass at St Cecilia Church in Mt Prospect on Monday January 22nd at 10am.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
