Benjamin Noe Gonzales Sr. was born on October 6, 1943, in San Benito, Texas, to Julia V. Gonzales and Josè A. Gonzales. On Friday, March 14, 2025, at the age of 81, he peacefully joined the Lord after bravely battling heart and kidney failure.
Benjamin married his sweetheart, Socorro Gonzales, in August 1960. Together, they had two sons, Benjamin Gonzales Jr. and David Gonzales, and one daughter, Lisa Gonzales. Benjamin was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Taylor Texas.
Benjamin had strong Christian values throughout his life, being baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. He devoted his life to the Lord, spending his time reading the Bible with his wife and teaching their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the great word of the Lord. Benjamin worked most of his life at Floyd’s Glass Company in Taylor, where he met many coworkers who would turn into lifelong friends.
In his free time, Benjamin was an avid bowler and loved spending time with his friends at Mel’s Bowling Alley in Georgetown. He enjoyed bowling with his teammates and won many awards for his Perfect Game. Benjamin enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. After retirement, you would often find Benjamin and his wife fishing off the pier in Galveston TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; Jesus Gonzales, Roberto Gonzales, Josè (Pepe) A. Gonzales, and his loving son, Benjamin Gonzales Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Socorro Gonzales of Taylor; son David Gonzales and wife Sandra Gonzales of Hot Spring, Arkansas; daughter, Lisa Gonzales and husband Joe Gonzales of Taylor; grandchildren, Jesse Luna and wife Lori Luna, Veronica Ramirez, Valerie Ramirez, Christian Martinez, Isabella Gonzalez; great-grandchildren, Rosalina Ramirez, Scarlett Ramirez; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers are; Aaron Simien, Christian Martinez, David Gonzales, Jesse Luna, Michael Gonzalez, Pedro Jr. Arroyo.

Family and friends are invited to Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos Parker Blvd, Taylor, TX for visitation on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM with the Rosary services from 6:30 – 7:00 PM. Funeral services will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at City of Taylor Cemetery in Taylor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Providence Funeral Home in Taylor.
