Conway...... Benjamin Franklin "Ben" Howell, Jr., age 84, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024.
Mr. Howell was born in Piedmont, Alabama, a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Howell, Sr. and late Rachel Isabelle McAulay Howell. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Angler's Sunday School class. Mr. Howell was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the Conway Lions Club where he served as a past President and a past Secretary of the club. Prior to retirement, he was a Treasury Agent for the Internal Revenue Service.
Surviving are: his wife of 61 years, Betty Howell of Conway; one son, Drew Howell (Tricia) of Columbia, SC; two daughters, Christy Byrd (Glenn) of Columbia, SC and Traci (Eddie) Salley of Conway; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Brittany, Rachel, Andrew, Auburn, and Rebecca; and six great grandchildren,
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 26, 2024 from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Brian Hoffman and Rev. Rocky Taylor officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church, 603 Elm Street, Conway, SC 29526.
