Benjamin "Keiki" Kama, III, 55, of Hilo, died on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. He was born on February 4, 1970, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was the child of the late Benjamin and Marvelene Kama, Jr. Originally from Waimanalo, Oahu, Ben was recognized as the best offensive linemen in the 1987 Hawaii High School Football All-State Team. He graduated from Kailua High School in 1988. Ben began his career as a plumbing apprentice and worked in a variety of labor trades throughout his life. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 25, 2025) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waimanalo Chapel, 41-972 Oluolu St., Waimanalo, HI 96795; Service at 12 p.m.; burial at 3 p.m. at Valley of the Temples, 47-200 Kahekili Hwy., Kaneohe, HI 96744. Survived by his daughters, Ke'alohilani and Waipulamakupuohina; their mother, Kekua; hanai sisters, Kimberly and Maile (Danny); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
