Benjamin Henry Muirheid

Benjamin Henry Muirheid, 82, of Vivian, Louisiana passed away on August 23, 2024 unexpectedly at Piermont Hospital in Louisiana. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home in Blue Mound, Illinois with burial following in Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Decatur, Illinois. There will be a time of visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. before the memorial funeral service.
Ben was born July 2, 1942 in Decatur, Illinois to Benjamin F. and Wilma Kluter Muirheid. He lived in Vivian since 1981. He attended the Methodist Church. Ben served his country in the US Navy from 1961-1965. He retired from J. B. Hunt Transport after 20 years. Ben enjoyed fishing, hunting and St. Louis Cardinal baseball and loved being with family.
Ben is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Sheryl Muirheid, his children, Susan Sullivan (Andy) of Rensselaer, IN, Anthony Shute (Jeannie) of Oceanside, CA, his siblings, Carolyn M. Pribble (Walt), Bill Muirheid (Marsha), grandchildren, Anthony Shute (Yessy) and Justin Shute (Autumn), Great-grandchildren, Ezra and Cienna and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
