It has been a month and I wanted to tell you that I think about all of them constantly. I did not know Ben personally but I knew him through Mike. He called everyday and shared some of his daily life. I know noone can take your pain away and that it will be there until the end. I hope we can all find comfort in the fact that our loved ones are some of the greatest men ever. They were all hero's alive. I hope that someday peace is found. No matter were I go I will think of your family and friends and of Ben. Lots of Aloha Marisa, Eliana, & Mikey

Dear Ashley L. Stanley, Anthony Curtis White, Jennifer Lynn, Brenda A. Shelton-Logozo, Frank, Mark Anthony, Zachary Luke, Anthony Evan White, Laura R. White, Curtis Buford White, Jan Daye, and Steven McCarty,

I never knew Senior Airman Benjamin White, but he was a soldier fighting for my freedom! While traveling to Pennsylvania from NC my family and I pulled off to get gas. Discovering what was going to take place in 20 minutes in Johnson City, we decided to stay and pay our respects. I cried. It was June 19 which was also my older brothers 24th birthday. I felt for the family who must be going through an extremely difficult time. I express my feeling with words, so on that same day I composed a song in memory of 24 year old Ben White. I would like to give it to his family. Although you can't here the tune right now, read the words. Know that Benjamin White is simply peacefully sleeping in Jesus, and when Jesus comes to take his children home you will all be reunited! What a precious thought!

My Hero ~

The painful scene of war has come to find my eyes,
As I witness the truth of reality and how close death lies.
It's hard for my sensitive heart to accept all I see,
As I watch the eagerness in your young face only in my memory.

A brave and willing one so tragically paused short, a soldier who gave his life to keep the freedom we have now!

You are my hero! You're bravery still lives on. When I see you flag waving in the wind it helps me to be strong, but I always feel a tear when I reminisce of how you'd proudly say, "God bless the USA"! And you are every real American's hero today!

War can bring damage that can never be mended.
I wish you knew my love for you is strong and will never be dented.
Nothing can destroy the only thing that goes on.
In a way you're still alive even though you're gone.

(repeat chorus twice)

Yes, you are every real American's hero today!

I salute you. (3x)

Composed in memory of Airman Benjamin White

Dedicated to all those who have fought and are still fighting for our freedom and all their families.

Ben was the finest man you could meet. His love for God, for his family, and for others were things he made no attempt to hide. We were so very proud of him and how hard he worked for four years to attain elite forces as a pararescueman (PJ). He once told me that if he saved just one life, his years of excruciating training would be worth it. They were.

Ben, the loss of you has left such a hole in our hearts and lives. We rejoice knowing that you are with Christ, but we will miss you until the day we meet again.

We love you forever,

1 LT Ralph J. Dittmeier, Angelia, Kasey, Christian, Kelsey, Colson, Katie, and Calvin

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Benjamin will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

I Salute You.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to SrAM Benjamin White, our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Benjamin. And to Benjamin it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made while operating against enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Benjamin, you are a brave Air Force Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,341 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Benjamin’s family and loved ones.

Please know how Deeply Sorry I am to learn of the loss of Senior Airman Benjamin White, the Price Benjamin and his family have paid for this country and for freedom, Will Never Be Forgotten.

There will Never Be Enough Ways to Humbly Thank our Young Heroes for their Sacrifices, my brother among them, killed in action in Vietnam, in 1967.

~ Romans 8:18 ~

May the Peace of God and your treasured memories of Benjamin, remain in your heart always and give you comfort and strength through the difficult days ahead.
You are in my thoughts and my prayers.
