Bennett J. Grimes, 66, of Shelby, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
Born January 12, 1957 in Medina, he was a son of the late Noel and Doris (Stout) Grimes. Ben was a lifelong resident of the Medina area and married the love of his life, the former Sharon L. Clark on September 23, 1978. The couple raised a family of four children and have resided on Fletcher Chapel Road in Shelby ever since. Ben worked for Delphi Harrison Division of GM, where he retired from after 30 years. A devout Christian, Ben was an active member of the New Life Alliance Church in Medina. He was also an avid outdoorsman and hunter, among other activities. Ben was a loving husband, father, papa and friend and will be missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Grimes; children, Rachel Grimes, Emily (Josh) Hill, Matthew (Marie) Grimes and Mark Grimes; grandchildren, Gavyn, Jace, Madelyn, Micah and Maverick; siblings, Rebecca (David) Odell, Rev. Robert (Esther) Grimes, Bonnie (late Kevin) Gilbert and Brian (Marna) Grimes; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Dec. 1 from 4-8PM at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 10AM at the New Life Alliance Church, 4140 Shelby Basin Rd., Medina followed by interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
