Bennett Rabern Obituary
Bennett David Rabern, cherished son of Mari and Walt Rabern and brother of Ava and Jackson Rabern, passed away on January 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of joy, kindness, and unforgettable memories. Born on March 9, 2012, Bennett was a remarkable young man who touched the lives of everyone around him. Bennett's generosity of spirit, humbleness, tremendous personality and gentle warmth made him an absolute joy to his family, friends, and community.
Bennett was a 7th-grade student at Morgan County Middle School, where he was a member of the National Junior Honors Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. There, he was known for his perseverance, wisdom, humor, trustworthiness, and quiet leadership. He was a friend to all and had a unique ability to brighten the lives of others, often with his witty humor and infectious smile. Bennett's amazing best friends, which he adored and admired, held such a special meaning to him - something we always cherished and were in awe to witness.
Bennett was always ready to lend a helping hand and took pride in sharing his favorite hobbies with others.
Bennett was a gifted athlete whose enthusiasm inspired those around him, as he embraced the values of genuine effort, positive attitude, and gritty style - also applying them to every aspect of his life.
He loved baseball and football, grew up in the Morgan County Recreation Department, played for numerous teams and was a current member of the Canes Southeast Baseball Organization, Morgan County Middle School Baseball Team, and Morgan County Middle School Football Team.
His passions extended beyond sports to the great outdoors, where he spent countless hours hunting and fishing with his grandfather, father, brother and friends. He was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, trapping, artifact hunting and sitting in a deer stand watching the sun rise and set. Spring mornings hunting turkeys were among his absolute favorites. He was an expert marksman, commanding the largest dove fields and furthest targets. Most significantly, he enjoyed sharing his outdoor adventures, skills and knowledge with all his friends.
Bennett loved practicing baseball with his father, and always treasured his mother's Saturday and Sunday big breakfasts. Among his favorite cherishments, his special bond with his Granddaddy was a joy for all to witness. Bennett traveled near and far, but what he loved most was roaming the mountains of Montana and prairies in Kansas. A favorite pastime was reminiscing through family photographs, reliving favorite memories of vacations, fun moments, and the simple joys of life spent with the people he loved most.
Bennett shared a close bond with his cousins, always enjoying time together. He found great joy in all family vacations and creating lasting memories at Lake Hartwell.
Above all, Bennett loved the Lord with all his heart and deeply cherished his family. He shared a unique and loving bond with his siblings, Ava and Jackson. Time spent on the family farm, playing with his brother, sister, and his beloved dogs, was his greatest joy.
Bennett was a testament to perseverance, grit, kindness, curiosity, and an unwavering love for life. He was a treasured son, brother, grandson, cousin, teammate, and friend, whose impact will be felt for years to come.
He is survived by his parents, Mari and Walt Rabern, and his siblings, Ava and Jackson, of Madison, GA; His grandparents, Jo and Dave Hetland of Hoschton, GA, and Judy and Leroy Rabern of Madison, GA; Aunts and Uncles, Crissy and Russ Lipari, with their daughters Lauren, Kate, and Anna of Milton, GA and Sara and Curt Johnson, with their children Reece, Kendall, and Caden of Overland Park, KS; as well as his extended family and many friends.
The family received friends on Thursday, January 30 from 5-7 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. A celebration of Bennett's life was held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11 o'clock at Madison First United Methodist Church, 296 South Main Street, Madison GA.
