Bennie Kay (Krein) Cliburn, age 78, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri.
Born on August 15, 1947, in Escondido, California, Bennie was the beloved daughter of Benjamin and Euna Krein. She grew up surrounded by a close-knit family that included her sisters Betty Ooley, Gerri Blount, and Irma Pombert, and her brother Lonnie Phillips-all of whom preceded her in death.
In 1980, Bennie graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life. Alongside her husband Kenneth Wood Cliburn, she dedicated herself to teaching Sunday school, sharing her deep spiritual convictions with others and nurturing the faith of those around her.
Bennie and Kenneth built both a life and a business together. For many years, they owned and operated Water Care of the Ozarks, serving their community with dedication and integrity. Their partnership extended beyond work into every aspect of life-a bond marked by shared purpose and enduring love until Kenneth's passing.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose legacy lives on through her family. She is lovingly remembered by her son Kenneth (Gretchen) Cliburn Jr.; her daughter Linda Divine; grandchildren Susanne (Eli) Warriner, Sara Divine, Ethan (Aleah) Cliburn, Rachel Divine, and Sophia Kay Cliburn; as well as four cherished great-grandchildren.
She is also remembered fondly by her brother Elvin(JoAnn) Phillips; brother-in-law David (Carolyn) Cliburn and many nieces and nephews who were touched by her warmth and wisdom.
Bennie Kay found joy in simple pleasures-she enjoyed painting and loved being outdoors, gardening, thrift shopping and walking. These quiet moments reflected the peaceful spirit she carried throughout her life.
Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her-as a wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, teacher of faith, and friend. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.
