Benny Burel Bryson

Benny Burel Bryson died November 21, 2025, at his home in Salem, Missouri. He was born in Salem to Edward and Marjorie Bryson on June 15, 1947, he was seventy-eight years old. He married Cheryl Cooksey. They were married fifty-seven years and had three children. Daughter, Rebecca Bennett, husband Brian, Ben's grandchildren, Bryson, Reese, and Aiden all of Wildwood, Missouri. Sons Matthew of Columbus, Ohio and Patrick Bryson, wife Jill, Ben's grandson Wesley of Dayton, Ohio. He is survived by two sisters, Darlene Preiss of St. Louis, Missouri and Martha Palazzo, husband Joe of Columbia, Missouri. Benny had three sisters-in-law, Reba Bryson of Rolla, Missouri, Charla Dougherty, husband Lester, of Connell, Washington, and Kara Huitt, husband Jim of Mountain Home, Arkansas. He had one brother-in-law, Dwayne Cooksey of Salem, Missouri. Mother-in-law Val Cooksey Meyers also of Salem. Benny was so fortunate to have many caring nieces and nephews and their families.

Benny will be joining in eternal peace his parents, brother, Thomas Bryson, father-in-law, Wayne Cooksey, brothers-in-law, Gene Preiss, John Meyers and Jefferson Seay.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Benny Bryson to the donor's choice and left with Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
