Benny M. Valenzuela, age 84, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Hendrick Medical Center North in Abilene, Texas.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 6:00 - 7:30 P.M..
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Fred Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Benny was born on October 14, 1940 in Roscoe,Texas, to Carmen and Josie (Martinez) Valenzuela. He married Mary Rodriguez in Merkel, Texas. He worked as a truck driver for ADM Trucking for many years before retiring. He had been a lifetime resident of Nolan County. He was a Christian. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Valenzuela of Sweetwater, Texas; four daughters, Barbara Valenzuela and husband Armando of Sweetwater, Texas, Brenda Valenzuela of Abilene, Texas, Virginia Martinez and husband Johnny of Arlington, Texas, and Doris Vasquez of Grand Prairie, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters, Elida Gutierrez, Minnie Cortez, and Beatrice Cave, all of Sweetwater, Texas; two brothers, Salvidor Valenzuela and David Valenzuela, both of Sweetwater, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmen and Josie Valenzuela, two sons, Eddie Valenzuela, and Emilio Valenzuela, sisters, Irene Rodriguez and Anita Ortega, three brothers, Mike Valenzuela, Ray Valenzuela, and Robert Valenzuela and son-in-law, Manuel Vasquez, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Daric Valenzuela, Eric Valenzuela, Joshua Gonzalez, Manuel Z. Vasquez, Brandon Zimmerman, and Mark Betancourt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Regino Mendez, Jr., Armando Salinas, Jr. and Johnny Martinez.
