Bernabe C. Moreno

Bernabe C. Moreno Sr., 83, of Ligonier, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Goshen Hospital.

He was born on May 20, 1942, in Zaracoza, Mexico, moving to Ligonier in 1970.

Mr. Moreno retired after 30 and a half years from Silgan Plastics.

In his free time, Bernabe enjoyed playing music with his family. He was also a minister and enjoyed preaching the Word of God. He will be remembered as a faithful servant of the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Maria N. Moreno; children, Guadalupe Moreno, Aseneht Moreno, Bernabe Moreno Jr., Tiodora Woods, Sara Acosta, and Esther Esparza; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Bernabe was preceded in death by his first wife, Natividad Moreno; mom, Tiodora Rodarte; sisters, Jovita Calvo Moreno and Juanita Calvo Moreno; daughter, Ruth Duque; nephew, Ezequiel Duque; and grandson, Daniel Moreno.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier. Calling will be from 12 noon until the start of the funeral at 2 p.m.

Now we know my dad has passed into the arms of our Lord, and we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of my father's physical life on earth it's the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for him.
