Bernadette "Bernie" F. Penca

Bernadette “Bernie” F. Penca, 93, of Silvis, passed away November 2, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Private burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, where she was a member.

Bernie was born on February 18, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Bruno and Lillian (Milozewski) Tragarz. She married Anthony “Tony” Penca on October 10, 1953, in Moline. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2022. Bernie was a loving and devoted homemaker.

Survivors include her children, Pamela (Mark) Schwigen, Tony (Kari) Penca, Paula Penca, Matt (Trish) Penca; grandchildren, Christopher (Hanalei Darbar) Schwigen, Patrick (Chelley) Schwigen, Haleigh Penca, Jordan Penca, Jonah Penca; great grandchildren, Olic and Arlo Schwigen, and Eyas Darbar Schwigen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Ursula Penca and brother-in-law Joseph Penca.
