BERNADETTE "BERNIE" KAISER September 4, 1923- March 15, 2009 Bernie was the beloved wife of 61 years of the late Glenn, deceased November 26, 2008, and mother of Karel Kaiser Bailey (Edward) and the late Mary Jane. In addition she is survived by two grandchildren, Joshua (Kelley) Bailey and Nicholas (Sheila) Bailey, and three great-grandchildren, Kaylynn, Oscar, and Madison. She had been a resident of Royal Oak since 1966, and was a former resident of Plymouth, Michigan from 1947-1966. Prior to serving in the U.S. Navy (WAVE) during WW II, serving stateside in NY and Washington, DC, Bernie had worked for a newspaper in St. Cloud, MN. Following her service during the War, she was a secretary at Ford Motor Company for a short time. She worked with Glenn as a Truck Gardener, working 8 acres of land in the Plymouth area. She became a stay-at-home Mom and perfect wife and mother when the children were born. Bernie and Glenn were married October 4, 1947 in St. Cloud, MN. She was a longtime member of Guardian Angels Church in Clawson. She was also a member of the Metropolitan Activities Club (MAC), a member and past officer for the Catholic Council of Women, and she volunteered at the Salvation Army Camp for the Handicapped (clerical worker), and was a 30-year volunteer at Cambridge North Nursing Center (Clawson). Bernie will be remembered as a very gracious lady - very classy. She enjoyed doing things for others. Visitation: Wednesday, March 18, 2009, from 2-8 PM at A. J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy, MI 48084 (between Maple and Big Beaver Roads), with an evening Rosary Service at 7 PM. Funeral Mass: Thursday, March 19, 2009 - 10:30 AM at Guardian Angels Church, 581 E. 14 Mile Road, Clawson, with Rev. Hoang C. Lam officiating. Visitation at church begins Thursday at 10 AM. Private Interment: Guardian Angel Cemetery, in Rochester, Michigan Memorial Tributes may be made to: Guardian Angels Memorial Garden, 581 E. 14 Mile Road, Clawson, MI 48017 -or- Seedlings Braille Books, P.O.
