Bernadette Webster Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 19, 2024.
Bern was born and raised in Port Angeles, WA.

She played piano, swam, hiked, rode horses, and fawned over animals. In high school, she worked as a Candy Striper and spent time with friends. Their time together bridged the mundane and the exciting. She and her youngest sister often drove around the Olympic Peninsula absorbing nature's beauty.

After high school and a little college, she headed east until she ran out of funds. She spent a year in Minneapolis working in a factory and, of course, making friends. She then traveled west to Northern California where she settled for the rest of her life. She raised her children, goats, and vegetables, and worked in an elementary school, law firm, and restaurants.

She marveled at her daughter, Blossom; son-in-law, Truckee; son, Logan, and daughter-in-law, Ashley. Her heart was wrapped around her three grandsons, Lukas, Connor, and Parker. They were flowers in her life's vase. She and her husband, Jack, were very close and loving. They made optimists of cynics who were near them.

Almost selfless, other people's lives and ways interested her more than her own. On meeting her people grew to love her. Depth and charisma.

She gave many weeks and months to caring for people in need. After surgery or chemotherapy, she would often stay with them for weeks to bolster their recovery.

She loved life and its many wonders. She was constantly inquisitive, constantly learning.

With a golden smile and twinkling eyes, she would stand back and watch others with an accepting, amused, and respectful demeanor. A life well lived with love well given.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, brother Burke Webster, sister Mary Everhart, cousins, nephews, and wonderful friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Glick; parents, Frank and Betty Webster and sister Alicia Forrest.

A gathering in her memory will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the McCormick Woods Golf Clubhouse in Port Orchard, WA. It will be from noon until 4 pm. in the West Trellis Room. Please come.

5155 McCormick Woods Dr SW, Port Orchard, WA.
