On May 28, 2023, Bernard (Buddy) Bell passed away. He was a resident of Upper Marlboro, Maryland and formerly lived in Brentwood, Maryland. Buddy was an extremely talented carpenter who took great pride in his work. He was a proud member of Carpenters Union Local 132 . He was a “car guy” and well known for his amazing 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air that he and his sons totally restored. He enjoyed going to car shows with his sons to show off his beautiful car. They even made trips to Kentucky, New York and North Carolina to attend car shows. And, of course, there were all of the local shows that his daughters took pride in attending with their Dad. The Baden car show seemed to be a family favorite as all of the family and friends seemed to always attend that show. He was truly a great man and loved by everyone who knew him. He was extremely proud of his family, and his family was extremely proud of him too!
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Linda, to whom he was married to for 46 years. He was a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Rhonda, and her husband Emad, his daughter, Tina, and her husband Kevin, his son, Buddy, and his wife Dawn and his son, Jason, and his wife Marianne. He was known affectionately as “Pop Pop” to his granddaughters, Sydney and Shelby, his grandson, Jay, and his youngest granddaughter, Mable. He is also survived by his sister, Maureen, and a bunch of nieces, nephews and friends.
His life will be celebrated with a memorial service on Saturday, June 3rd at 11:00 am at Gasch’s Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD 20781. Following the services, there will be a funeral procession to Ft. Lincoln Cemetery.
