Bernard Carr Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Paradise Funeral Home - Dallas on Jan. 19, 2026.
Bernard Winston Irvin Carr, affectionately known to all as "Funky," passed away on January 15, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 63.
Bernard was born on September 28, 1962, in Tunapuna, Trinidad and Tobago. His Caribbean roots were evident in his vibrant personality, warmth, and infectious love of life. He later made his home in Texas, where he continued to build lasting relationships and leave a joyful impression on everyone he met.

Bernard was truly one of a kind-charismatic, witty, and always the life of the party. He loved to dance, laugh, and enjoyed the card game "All Fools," bringing fun and excitement wherever he went. His humor came naturally, his presence was magnetic, and he had a rare ability to make people feel comfortable and valued.

Above all, Bernard loved his children and all children deeply. He was selfless, generous, and known for spoiling everyone he grew close to. Family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in being a father and grandfather.

Bernard is survived by his loving children: Crystal, Afia, Petal, Kaylon, Kobedale, Korey, and Jordan, along with eleven cherished grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. He also leaves behind his siblings Winsley, Cassandra, Dexter, Lawrence, Kevin, Gary, and Annie, and many others. Not to be forgotten is his strong, loving relationship with his nephew Brent Bleasdell, as well as his countless nieces, nephews and a host of cousins.

Throughout his working life, Bernard held positions with several companies. He approached his work with commitment, adaptability, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Bernard "Funky" Carr will be remembered for his big heart, joyful spirit, and the countless lives he touched simply by being himself. Though he is no longer with us in body, his laughter, love, and light will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
