I was shocked and sad to hear of Bernie's passing. As I write this with a tear in my eye, I remember Bernie as a truly unforgettable person in my life. The old saying "He lit up the room" is certainly a fitting comment. His smile, laugh, and booming voice is a memory that will live with me forever. He was an old soul with a huge heart that never met a stranger. A mere introduction to him made you feel like a friend. So kind, giving, caring, and loving. We worked together, played a lot of golf, and socialized with his young family, and I enjoyed every minute of being with him and his family.
I looked up to Bernie as a mentor and a true gentleman and tried to live up to the standard he represented my entire life. Bernie made me a better person and I am so grateful to have known him and call him my friend. My only regret is we didn't spend more time together as we grew older.
To Judy and the family my sincere condolences, and to Bernie thank you for being you. I look forward to teeing it up with you when we meet again!

I helped Bernie rebuild his 1940 Ford and spent a lot of time with him for those 4 years. He was always so confident and positive. I will miss him and remember him fondly.
