A 1963 graduate of Seymour High School, Duane was a standout on the varsity football team and a devoted fan of Seymour athletics throughout his life. A lifelong member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Duane's faith was a guiding force throughout his life. He was an avid fan of local and college sports teams and enjoyed watching golf. Duane also loved traveling; Hawaii and Japan were among his favorite destinations.
