Bernard "Bernie" Murrell Webb, 82, of Conroe, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Born on March 20, 1942, in Houston, Texas, Bernie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Webb of Conroe, Texas; daughter, Kelly Webb Mobley, and her husband, Gerald; grandchildren, Megan Webb, Kyle Mobley, and Bradly Webb II; and six great-grandchildren. Bernie is also survived by his sister Melanie Madison and brother Ricky Compte, sister-in-law Lou Webb, as well as his stepchildren Derwin Shull, Robin Bickham, Carl Wayne Shull, and Travis Shull, and their children Brennan Bickham, Taylor Brown, Cara Babaz, Cameron Shull, Kimberly Simon, Robert Shull, and Aaron Shull, along with many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard John Webb and Lillian Compte; his brother Robert Webb; his son Bradly Webb; and his grandchild Brantly Fudge.
He was a member of Vinton Lodge 364 in Vinton, Louisiana.
Bernie entered the Navy in 1961 and was stationed at the US Naval Air Station in Lemoore, CA. After leaving the Navy, he was a lineman for Houston, Lighting & Power for 16 years. Bernie was a man known for many trades. He went on to open many businesses, including Webb's Feed & Supply, Webb's Grocery, Webb's Automotive, and lastly, AAA American Storage, all located first on FM 1488 and on the corner of 1488 and 2978, which people referred to as Webb's Corner. He loved Texas and recently returned to be near his family.
Bernie was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and frugality. His generous spirit touched many, and his legacy will continue to inspire those privileged to know him.
Bernie's life will be celebrated at Klein Funeral Home and buried at Magnolia Cemetery. In Bernie's memory, the family requests donations to Tunnel to Towers, Wounded Warriors, or St. Jude’s instead of flowers.
