Le sobreviven con gran amor sus hijos, Víctor Burciaga y Belem Burciaga, así como sus 5 nietos, quienes fueron una de las mayores alegrías de su vida.
Bernardo fue una persona alegre y muy amorosa. Siempre tenía un chiste listo para sacar una sonrisa y contagiar su buen humor. Fue un hombre fuerte, de gran corazón, y disfrutaba mucho de la comida mexicana, la cual compartía con gusto en compañía de su familia y seres queridos.
