It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernardo Ferro Jr., 69, of Bowie, who passed away supported by his loved ones after a courageous battle with stage 4 prostate cancer. He was born on October 29, 1955, in Miami, FL to Bernardo Ferro Sr. and Olga (Gonzalez) Ferro, Bernardo lived a life defined by hard work, devotion, and love for his family.
In January 2026, Bernardo and his beloved wife, Judy Linda Ferro, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary - a testament to their enduring and committed partnership. Together, they raised six children: Bernardo Ferro III(49), Tracey Lynn Ferro(46), Christopher Michael Ferro(40), Daniel Raymond Ferro (31- deceased 2019), Jessica Marie Ferro-Jennings(32), and Maria Elena Ferro(27). Bernardo was also a proud grandfather to Issac Anthony Ferro(11) and Arianna Marie Jennings(1), who were his greatest joys.
A gifted painter and craftsman, Bernardo spent his career perfecting his skills in interior remodeling - from painting and drywall to brickwork. Known as a "man of all trades," his dedication, creativity, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with.
Bernardo had a lifelong passion for all sports. He was an avid collector of sports memorabilia and a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and the Miami Dolphins. He also enjoyed coaching youth sports, sharing his love of the game and the values of teamwork and perseverance with younger generations.
Beyond sports, Bernardo had an eye for fine automobiles and admired the craftsmanship behind every sleek ride. He was especially proud to have owned two Corvettes during his lifetime - a symbol of his love for power and timeless style.
Bernardo also shared a special bond with his many close friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom he loved dearly. His kindness, humor, and generosity touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved son, Daniel Raymond Ferro, bringing comfort to those who hold them both forever in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, at Walden Country Club, 1500 Riedel Rd, Crofton, MD 21114. All friends and family are warmly invited to join in honoring Bernardo's memory and sharing the stories and moments that made his life so special.
Bernardo's legacy of love, hard work, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
