Bernardo Valdez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by San Jacinto Funeral Home & Cremation Services & Cemetery on Feb. 21, 2026.
Bernardo Valdez, a man defined by quiet generosity and unwavering love, passed away on February 19, 2026 at the age of 74. He was born to Bernardo and Julia Valdez in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas and married Silvia Humeda on November 16, 1974 in Houston, Texas.

Bernardo was a man of many skills being a general contractor all his life. He also was a member of the Variance Board Council for Jacinto City and a faithful member of Iglesia Universal. Known for his caring spirit and boundless willingness to help others, he lived his life with a rare humility-always giving, always supporting, and never seeking recognition for the countless ways he made life better for those around him.

Family was the center of his world. He adored his children and cherished his grandchildren with a passion that shaped every part of his life. To him, family wasn't just important-it was everything. He showed his love not through words alone, but through actions, big and small, done without hesitation and without expecting anything in return.

He was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone, quietly stepping in wherever he was needed, offering kindness without fanfare. His generosity was steady, sincere, and deeply felt by all who knew him.

Bernardo is survived by his wife, Silvia Valdez of Houston, Texas; his daughters, Sylvia Valdez-Brosig and husband, Raymundo Brosig, of Houston, Texas, and Erika Valdez-Rodriguez and husband, Samuel Rodriguez, of Houston, Texas; and his son, Bernard Valdez Jr. He is also survived by his sisters, Beatrice Valdez and Julia Morales; and his brothers, Martin Valdez, Ramiro Valdez, and Manuel Valdez. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Raylen Nicole Brosig, Raymundo Zamudio Brosig III, Andraya Isabel Brosig, Ryan Xavier Rodriguez, Alyssa Ray Brosig, Chloe Marie Rodriguez, Emerald Hernandez, and Claudia Angel Acebedo; as well as his great-grandchild, Joaquin Hernandez III.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernardo and Julia Valdez; his brother-in-law, Hugo Humeda; and his sisters, Maria Martinez, Dora Valdez, Diamond Barron, and Nora De Los Santos.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, selflessness, and devotion-one that will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to be touched by his gentle strength.
