Bernice L. Eilers, was born on January 9, 1929, in Newton, Kansas. She lived a life that was marked by dedication to her work and her community. Bernice embarked on her professional journey at the former Newton Woolworths and later became a longtime clerk at the Newton South Dillons, where she touched the lives of many with her warm personality and steadfast commitment to service. She had a strong quiet faith in the Lord and was currently attending First Mennonite Church in Hesston,
Bernice passed away on January 11, 2026, in Hesston, Kansas, at the age of 97. She leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of hard work and kindness.
Her family includes her beloved sons, Sidney and Kenneth Neufeld, daughter Sally (George) Moland, She is preceded in death by her two husbands Rudy Neufeld and Wesley Eilers as well as her parents
A private family graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, Kansas, Bernice will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
