Bernice Elliott Obituary
Bernice was born in 1926 in Lee County, VA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Edens. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, crossword puzzles, playing cards and watching game shows on television.
She married Robert Earl Elliott, Sr. on September 21, 1946, in Winchester, VA and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2022.
Bernice is survived by her children, Pauline Skiles (Archie) of Winchester, VA, Deborah Ostertag of Winchester, VA and Robert E. Elliott, Jr. of Yakima, WA; grandchildren, Kelly Hicks (Joe) of Winchester, VA, Mandy Stroup (Danny) of Puyallup, WA, Denise Klein (Tony) of Stephens City, VA, Holly Miller of Stephens City, VA, Joseph Ostertag of Winchester, VA, Jacob Ostertag of Winchester, VA, Jesse Elliott (Lisa) of Seattle, WA, Wesley Skiles of Elgin, SC, Sarah Masino (Derek) of Philadelphia, PA, Jenna Kivi of Yakima, WA and Michelle Johnson of Merced, CA; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren; step- grandchildren, Denise Burleson (John) of Winchester, VA, Vanessa Ostertag of Winchester, VA and Theresa Ostertag of Winchester, VA; sisters, Ruby Orndorff of Capon Bridge, WV, Pat Edens of Winchester, VA and brother, Bruce Edens of Capon Bridge, WV.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bernice is preceded in death by her daughter, Louise McDonald; grandchild, Casey Ostertag; sisters, Jean Montonera, Betty Racer and Bobbi Burhite, her brothers, Howard, Tom and Stanley Edens and son-in-law, John Ostertag.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Bernice on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 12pm at Montague Ave. United Methodist Church. Pastor Tom Stelzl will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bernice to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, VA 22601.
