Bernice Fletcher was born June 27,1939 in Forkland, Alabama to the late Louis and Alice Williams. She celebrated her eternal homegoing early Thursday morning, January 16,2025 at Mt Carmel St. Ann Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Bernice retired from the Ohio Avenue East Daycare Center after 25 years of service and Ricart Automotive Car Dealership after 10 years.
Bernice was a faithful member of Faith Ministries Church where she served in the Guest Service and Bereavement ministries until her illness. Bernice enjoyed going to church, traveling shopping and baking cakes, and she was well known for her delicious cakes. Spending time with her husband and family was her joy.
Besides her parents, Bernice is preceded in death by her stepmother Maple C Williams, brother Joe L Williams, sister Anna Pearl Woods, sisters-in-law Johnnie Williams, Emma Lou Germany, Maudie M Fletcher and brothers-in-law Reverend Essie E Woods, Thomas Stewart, Roger Germany and two aunts Laura and Mary McGraw and nephew Gerald L Douglas.
Bernice leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of forty years Bruce Fletcher, daughters Angela Williams, Bridgette (Sylvester) Norman both of Columbus, Ohio, sons Darrell L Battle, Kenneth (Holly) Battle Sr, Bryan (Mary Ann) Battle Sr and Dwayne A Battle Sr. all of Columbus, Ohio. Stepchildren Paul (Marlene)Robinson, Ernest (Malika)Smith, Darrell (Diane)Vaughters, Bruce W Fletcher II, Denise Crawley, and Jamie (Julio)Rodriguez. Bernice will also be cherished by her sister Maggie (Bae)Davis and sister-in law Glady M. Stewart both of Columbus, Ohio. 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
