Bernice Moore, age 89, went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2026 with her family at her side.
She was born on the family farm in Mercer, Pennsylvania on March 25, 1936.
Bernie (as most called her) was a member of Faith Chapel for 50 years. She faithfully served
and attended church with her family. After graduating high school she attended Jameson
Memorial Hospital Nursing College to become a Registered Nurse. Immediately upon
graduation she moved to Los Angeles, California with three classmates to work at UCLA
Medical Center. She later moved to San Diego, where she raised her 3 children.
She spent time as a Director of Nurses for Carroll's Nursing homes in El Cajon, and held various
positions at Grossmont Hospital.
In October 2003 Bernie married Ed Moore. This started a new chapter of her life. They shared in
ministry with Wednesday Night meals, Breakfast for Meet the Need, and a trip to Africa. They
have been an active part of Legacy Builders. She loved all things gardening and working
alongside Ed outside.
She is survived by her sister Virginia and a brother, David. She is also survived by her three
children, Vicki Sneed, Bonnie Hernandez, and Thomas Carlyon; and her 7 grandchildren and 3
great grandchildren. Bernie leaves a strong legacy of her Christian faith, incredible work ethic
and unwavering desire to serve others. Her decision to serve Jesus will impact her family for
generations.
