Bernice Delores (Daniels) Murdock was born to the late Sylvester and Lillian Daniels on April 17, 1939. She received her formal education in the Pierce County school system where she was crowned Ms. Lee Street in 1957. She graduated from Lee Street High School in 1958. Always a diligent person, Bernice began her career working with Gold Kist Pecan Company until the corporation dissolved its business in 1996. She quickly pivoted into household management work and served several families until her retirement in 2023.
Bernice met her beloved husband, James Murdock, in 1983, and they were married that same year. Together, they built a loving home and shared many happy memories. Sadly, her husband passed away in 2006, leaving a profound void in Bernice's life.
A devoted Christian and a pillar of her church, Bernice was known for her unwavering faith, infectious laughter, and compassionate spirit. She served as Mother to her congregation as St. James Missionary Baptist Church, offering guidance, comfort, and spiritual nourishment to all who sought her counsel. Her melodious voice filled the sanctuary, as she was an active and
cherished church choir member.
Before the sun could crest the morning sky on September 10, 2024, the Lord called Bernice to rest in his arms. To welcome her to an eternal home she was proceeded in death by, her mother Lillian Daniels and father Sylvester Daniels, Sr.; Siblings: Sylvester Daniels, Jr, Franklin Leroy Daniels, Helen Sharpe, Charles Wilson, and Minister Marian Daniels.
Bernice was a devoted mother to her three children and four stepchildren, who will forever hold her in their hearts Connell Vedo Daniels, Jefery (Vanessa) Daniels, Kenneth (Katrina) Daniels, Kelvin Smith, Stephanie Daniels, Mark Murdock, Larry Wilson (Deceased). To mourn her loss
She leaves behind her beloved sister, Earlene Jacobs, brother, Charles (Mattie) Daniels, adopted sister Beverly McCrimmon, adopted brother, Dr. Joshua (Dr. Samantha) Murfree of Macon, and Sister-in-law, Patrica Wilson; grandchildren: Jennifer Daniels, Jessica (Daniel) Mitchell, Keshia Daniels, Kenneth Daniels, and Kimberly Daniels, as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her legacy of love, strength, and resilience that her family and friends will forever cherish.
