Bernice “Bernie” Sayre, age 94, of Akron, OH passed away on February 8th, 2025. Bernice was born on November 19, 1930 in Akron, one of four sisters of the late Martin and Mabel Williams. She married Gerald Sayre on February 18, 1950 and celebrated 64 years together before his passing in 2014. They had many happy years together enjoying golf, bowling and family gatherings. They bought their first house in Kenmore, where Bernice loved working in her many flower gardens. She loved all flowers, but her favorite was the Gerber Daisy. She even won multiple Akron Beautification Awards for their property.
Later, as the years went by, Bernice moved to Greenview Assisted Living. She lived there for several years and enjoyed her Bible Study, lunch outings, and the ice cream trips. She made many new friends there and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald (Jerry) and her three sisters, Kathleen, Annie and Dorothy. Bernice is survived by her nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Funeral Service 1 P.M. FRIDAY February 14th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Private Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
