Bernice Stockton

Bernice Stockton, age 59, of Utica, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13th 2025, at Wynn Hospital in Utica, New York after a difficult battle with cancer surrounded by her family.
Born in New York City, NY on September 23rd, 1965. She moved to Utica in the late 90's where she eventually settled down permanently. She obtained her GED and worked towards a Chemical Dependency degree at MVCC. Bernice was seen often working at The Hub Eatery whether it was serving drinks or waitressing with a smile on her face.
She had a love of cooking for her children, always delicious Spanish food with more than enough to go around. There isn't a day in the summer that she wasn't asking to go to the beach and just sit in the sun. Bernice had a special love for the Fourth of July and New Year's Eve and always wanted to be surrounded by others during them. If you took a walk with her in Utica you'd have to stop every three minutes while she ran into somebody she knew and had a chat with them. She had the energy of a puppy, the laugh of a witch, and the heart of an angel.
Bernice is survived by six of her children; Alex EnTin, Desirae Kampf, Gabriel Machado, Kristiana Stockton, Nicholas Stockton, Elizabeth Stockton, and her 4 grandchildren; Tryston Elford, Shyleigh Elford, Lyla Long, Zelianté Rio Washington. She was predeceased by her eldest son Desmond Rodriguez.

God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference.
The funeral will be held on Thursday August 21st, 2025 at 3:00pm at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 1123 Court St., Utica, NY. The funeral is open to all that would like to say their goodbyes.
