Mrs. Bernice Waller Wimmes was born to Coleman Waller, Sr., and Maggie Quarles Waller on July 8, 1929, she was the last survivor of her immediate family of eight siblings at the age of 95.

Having fulfilled her earthly assignment, she was peacefully called home from labor to reward on October 4, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

Bernice attended public school in Greenwood, South Carolina during her childhood.

Her family attended Mount Pisgah African Methodist Episcopal Church in Greenwood, South Carolina. Bernice accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Bernice joined the Choir, Women's Missionary Society, appointed to the Steward Board and was a faithful member of the Adult Sunday School Class. Years later she united with Weston Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Bernice attended Piedmont Agency on Aging until her health started to decline.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Joel Wimmes and one son, Darroyl Wimmes.

Leaving to cherish her most fond and precious memories are; one son, Glenn (Barbara) Wimmes of Greenwood, South Carolina; three daughters, Joann (Thomas) Vance of San Diego, California; Cheryl (Jesse) Adams of Greenwood, South Carolina and Crystal (Tyrone) White of McCormick, South Carolina; ten grandchildren, Tonya Wimmes, Dwayne (Brandi) Vance, Tomeka (Gabriel) Felder, Travis (Shameka) Hentz, Nikki Wimmes, Alicia Wimmes, Gregory (Laporsha) Hentz, Jr., Quanesha (Garfield) Woods, Dekedre (Bria) Fuller and Demarea Fuller; thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will truly miss her.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 2-6 P.M. at the funeral home.

A celebration of life for Mrs. Bernice Waller Wimmes will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Weston Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 805 East Cambridge Avenue, Greenwood, South Carolina with Pastor Reverend Annette Edwards, Presiding and Reverend Willie Neal Norman, Jr., Officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Evening Star Cemetery.

The Family is at the home, 212 A Durst Avenue.

Parks Funeral Home is assisting the Wimmes Family.
