Bernideane Florence Daugerdas

Bernideane Daugerdas passed away March 1, at the age of 101. It was exactly 3 months until her 102nd birthday. She was the last of the 10 Bobshosky children, though not the youngest, and lived a full life as a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother, and worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" for Alcoa Aluminum during WWII, in a distillery, in her brother Bill's dry cleaners and as a photo model for her brother Ed in Pennsylvania. Most famously, she worked in retail in Burbank, Illinois at Topps and KMart. She never lost her love for Pennsylvania, where she was born and raised, and visited many times.

She was preceded in death by Walter, her beloved husband of 61 years and her parents, Leon and Kamila, her siblings and her grandchild Carrie. She is survived by three children, Paul (Eleanor) of Wilmette, Illinois; Karen, of Skokie, Illinois; and David (Lynn) of Palatine, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Paul, Jr., Kelly, Russell, Daniel, Nicole, Michael, Eric, and Trevor; and seven great-grandchildren, Alex, Meghan, Kaitlyn, Courtney, Eleanor, Dean Walter, and Macy Marie.

Most recently she'd been living in Palatine and Arlington Heights in senior care facilities, where in the former she won the Palatine Township Outstanding Community Service Award for her amazing craft work and homemade decorations.
