Bert B. GREENMAN, 90, of Wellsville, NY, formerly of Alma, died Friday, October 17, 2025 in Elderwood at Hornell.
Born May 8, 1935, in Wellsville, he was the son of Lewis F. and Dorothy I. Stocking Greenman. A U.S. Army Veteran, he served honorably from 1951 – 1954 at Fort McClellan, AL. In 1970, in the Christian Temple in Wellsville, he married Virginia Armstrong, who predeceased him in 1996. Bert was employed as a machinist by Air Preheater in Wellsville. He was a member of Frank B. Church VFW Post #2530 and Morrison Hayes American Legion Post #702. Bert loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, cars, NASCAR, dancing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are: six children, Eugene (Kathy) Greenman of Alma, Debbie (Steve) Haltom of Lone Star, TX, Aaron (Amber) Greenman of Scio, Donna (Rick) Brashear of Richland, MO, Bert D. Greenman of Mount Morris, and Christina Greenman of Wellsville; a son-in-law, Bobby Jack Turner of Hope, AR; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Merle (Sandra) Greenman of Wellsville and Keith (Gloria) Shelley of Athens, TX; two sisters, Martha Feick of Port Allegany, PA and Edith “Dollie” Meyer of Wellsville; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three children, Theresa Turner, Curtis Greenman, Sr., and Sherry Greenman; and six siblings, Agnes L. LaBar, Lewis F. Greenman, Jr., Ilah Greenman, Frank Greenman, George Greenman, and Laverne Greenman.
A gathering to celebrate Bert’s life will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Scio Fire Hall beginning at 1:00 PM.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville.
