Bert Puckett

LEACHVILLE - Bert Carson Puckett, 65, of Leachville, passed from this life Monday, May 2, 2022, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Leachville, he was the son of the late Edward Dee and Faye Lentz Puckett and had been a lifelong area resident. He had been employed as a truck driver for Thomas E. Puckett Trucking Co. in Leachville for more than 40 years.

Bert enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing and being on the lake. He had been a member of the Leachville Second Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa McCoy Puckett; four brothers, Jerry Puckett, Terry Puckett, Charles Puckett and Thomas Puckett; and two sisters, Connie Shepard and Wava Martin.

Survivors include his son, Eric Puckett of Leachville; a brother, Cloyce Puckett of Summersville, Mo.; three sisters, Jo Ann Cardin of Leachville, Quinnie Moore of Saint Ann, Mo., and Mary Ellen Steen of Kennett, Mo.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with the Revs. Mark Wheeler and David Price officiating. Burial will be in the Leachville Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers will be John Thompson, Terry Routon, Bill Lyles, Keith Evans, Harley Harvey, Kevin Estes and Kenny Carmichael.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry "Peanut" Way.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
