Bertha M. (Brzezowski) Bishop, 93, of Belchertown, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. She was born on July 23, 1932 in Chicopee and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Katherine (Wisinowski) Brzezowski. She was a graduate of Chicopee High School and a former communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Bertha worked at the former A. G. Spaulding Corp. in Chicopee. She enjoyed baking; loved bird watching, flowers and nature walks. Bertha enjoyed gardening and crafting but most of all, taking care of her grandchildren. Bertha is predeceased by her husband, Robert Bishop, her son, Donald Bishop, daughter, Joanne Bishop, son-in-law, Normand Boyer and her eight siblings. Bertha is survived by her daughters, Catherine Boyer of Chicopee and Carol Talbot and her husband, Robert of Belchertown and six grandchildren, Timothy Boyer and his wife, Amy, Jodie Despres and her husband, James, Jamie Boyer and his wife, Cynthia, Christopher Bishop and his wife, Carleen, Matthew Talbot and McKenna Talbot, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation is on Monday, March 9, 2026 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee from 9 to 10:30 am. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus. 566 Front St. in Chicopee at 11 am. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
