Bertha Mae Croucher

Bertha Mae Croucher passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, in Berea, Kentucky. Born on October 17, 1947, in Madison County, Kentucky, Bertha's life was a testament to love, family, and the joy of simple pleasures.

She was the beloved daughter of Carlo and Sadie Lamb Satterfield, who, along with her devoted husband, Willard Croucher, and several siblings, William Satterfield, Lester Satterfield, Mayfra Woodson, Robert Satterfield, Teddy Satterfield, Chester Satterfield, Mamie Adams, and Jerry Satterfield, preceded her in death.

Her legacy continues through her loving sisters, Mandy Alexander and Betty Marshall, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and good family friends who were like an extension of her own family.

Bertha's professional life was spent in service to others at the Boone Tavern Historic Hotel, where she retired after many years of dedication.

Beyond her work, Bertha's passions were close to home. She was an exceptional cook, known her delectable chocolate fudge. Her love for cooking was only surpassed by the love she had for her family. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed going to services at Silver Creek Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Lakes Funeral Home with Kenny Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilot Knob Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 12 pm to 2 pm at the funeral home. Services will be livestreamed at www.lakesfuneralhome.com
