Bertha was a faithful member of Love Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Henderson, Kentucky. She had worked as a home health aide and had worked at Whirlpool Corp. Bertha enjoyed arts and crafts. She likes to watch soap operas. She also enjoyed going out to eat and shopping, especially online. She loved talking on the phone to family and friends.
Bertha is preceded by her parents, husbands, James Thomas Compton Sr., Elder Pleas Brandon, son, James Thomas Compton Jr., brothers Allen Everheart, James Everheart, Bennie Everheart, sisters, Alenea Dixon, Florence Posey,
She leaves fond memories to her husband, John Toombs, daughters, Helen Miller (Timothy), Addie Smith, Gloria Jean Compton, 7 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
