Bertha Kern Obituary

Bertha L. Kern, 90, of Youngwood, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026. She was born on Jan. 16, 1936, in Penn Township, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Sarah Loughner. Bertha loved to spend time and take care of her family. She is survived by her children, Virginia O'Niel and her husband, Daniel, of CT, Maryann Edge, of Scottdale, Donald Kern Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Hunker, Susan Stokes, of Greensburg, Beth Kern, of Youngwood, and Tami Bossi and her husband, John, of NC. Her beloved grandchildren, Daniel, Dana, Tricia, Brittany, Thomas, Brianne, Shaye, Sarah, Anita, Anthony, Kalin, Amanda, Ashlee, Ami, Jonas, Ronan, Quentin, and Soren. Bertha is also survived by her 27 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kern; her son, Thomas Kern; her granddaughter, Christen Gerhard; and her 10 siblings. Per Bertha's wishes, all services are private. Personalized funeral arrangements are entrusted to the C. RICHARD MCCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., 101 S. Fourth St., Youngwood.
