Bertha Sue Winkels Lynch, 91, of Oak Ridge, went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2010. She was born January 3, 1919 in Bean Station, the daughter of Grace and Brutus Winkels. Mrs. Winkels was a member of the Meadow Branch Church in Bean Station. During WWII, she worked at Union Carbide Corporation and later at the Oak Ridge Holiday Inn. She was a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Lynch was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her yard and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed eating out and going riding in the car. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Orvid A. "Joe" Lynch; sisters, Lucille, Elsie, Ora, Gladys and Reece; and brothers, Lon and Roge. She is survived by her daughters, Martha Lynch of the home, Patsy LoMascolo and husband Orlando of Louisville; grandson, Nicolo "Nick", a senior at the University of TN and her favorite sister-in-law, Delma Winkels of Oak Ridge. The family will host a Celebration of Life at the home of her daughter, 4727 Rivers Edge Rd., Louisville, TN 37777 on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 1pm. Rev. Roger Webb will officiate. A reception will follow immediately. Memorials can be made to Calvary Chapel Church Building Fund, 2864 Alcoa Hwy., Knoxville, TN 37920. Weatherford Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
