Bertha Hernandez Oyervides, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and woman of faith, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, at her home in Edinburg, Texas, surrounded by her loving daughters. She is survived by her devoted husband, Julio Oyervides. Bertha was born in Reynosa, Mexico, and later moved to McAllen, Texas in the mid- 1980s, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. From a young age, she demonstrated a deep calling to care for people, which led her to work in the healthcare field, dedicating her life to helping those in need. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Elvia, Antonia†, Luis Horacio, Josephina, Froilan†, Rosa Angelina, Maria Ester, Jose Dante†, and Norma Patricia. Bertha leaves behind her cherished children: Berta Isabel Oyervides, Julissa Villarreal (Jose Villarreal), and Cynthia Oyervides Garza (Mario Garza). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Nathan Alexander Puentes, Clarissa Cerisse Puentes, Kristen Danielle Puentes, Jovanna Villarreal, Cristian Villarreal, Carlos Diego Olivarez, Julius Armad Molina, and Jayden Luke Garza, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Bertha was a loving, caring, and devoted mother and grandmother, known for her tremendous strength and unwavering faith. She had a beautiful voice and found great joy in singing, filling her home with music and warmth. She was an amazing cook who expressed her love through food and hospitality and enjoyed creating floral arrangements, reflecting her creative and giving spirit. Above all, Bertha found joy in caring for others. Her compassion, generosity, and devotion to her family and faith will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Bertha Hernandez Oyervides, amada esposa, madre, abuela, hermana y mujer de fe, falleció en paz el 20 de diciembre de 2025, en su hogar en Edinburg, Texas, acompañada por sus queridas hijas. Le sobrevive su amado esposo, Julio Oyervides. Bertha nació en Reynosa, México, y emigró a McAllen, Texas, a mediados de la década de 1980, donde formó una vida basada en la fe, la familia y el servicio a los demás. Desde temprana edad mostró una profunda vocación por cuidar a las personas, lo que la llevó a trabajar en el campo de la salud, dedicando su vida a ayudar a quienes más lo necesitaban.
