Bertha Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Relerford Funeral Home - Stuttgart on Dec. 23, 2025.
Bertha Mae Rogers Williams was born on February 8, 1944, in Lonoke County, Arkansas, to Arthur Rogers, Sr. and Della Mae Allen Rogers.

Bertha dedicated much of her life to service, care, and hard work. She was employed as a housekeeper for over 40 years, faithfully serving Jim, Joan, and Maude Boggess. In addition, she worked as a cook at Shell's Station for 12 years, where she was known for her consistency, strong work ethic, and loving spirit.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Junior Williams, and together they shared 54 years of marriage built on love, faith, and family.

Bertha was baptized at an early age at Duley Lake and later became a faithful member of East Macedonia Baptist Church in England, Arkansas, under the leadership of Pastor Clifton Hayes, Sr. Her faith guided her life and the way she served and cared for others.

A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and cook, Bertha gave of herself wholeheartedly until her health began to fail. She lovingly helped raise many of her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, as well as families within the community. Alongside her sister Emma, she dedicated over 20 years to helping raise children within the foster care system, opening her home and heart to those in need and leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.

Bertha Mae Rogers Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Rogers, Sr. and Della Mae Allen Rogers; her sons, Junior Darnell Williams, Sr. and Gregory LaMont Williams; and her siblings, Dorothy Farrow Hatton, Pearlier Rogers Releford, Hattie Rogers Edwards, Leroy Rogers, Curtis Rogers, Willie Rogers, Sr., James Rogers, Tommy Rogers, and Leroy Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: four daughters, Gwendolyn Williams, Debra Williams, Carolyn Williams (Emmanual) Edwards, and Che'waun Williams Stewart; and one son, Ike Montgomery. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Ann Rogers Richard, Emma Rogers Jones, Henry (Linda) Rogers, Sr., Arthur (Daveina) Rogers, Jr., Charles (Doris) Rogers, and Emma Bell.

Bertha will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Javas Leavy, Natalie Beard, Jarvas Leavy, Taivonia Berry, Jackson Grayson, Gloria Williams (Puncho) Hernandez, Derrick Williams, Monica Henderson, Brittany Williams, Belonda Franklin, Latoya Williams, Junior Darnell (Amanda) Williams, Shan Mayes, Mariah Phillips, Porcha Moore, Wendell Moore, Jr., Greg Williams, Jr., Jordan Williams, Zalon Williams, Berry Franklin, Jay'won Sloan, Jalan Sloan, Veronica Williams, Sy' Miyah Burnam, Ace Burks, Alyssa Williams, Treasure Brooks, and Baylee Henderson.

She was blessed with 29 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
