Mrs. Bessie “Bess” Pack Wilson, age 90 of King, NC, formerly of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning December 10, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Patrick County March 1, 1933, to the late Jasper Newton Pack and Elizabeth Chaney Pack. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and mother-in-law who will be missed dearly. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 32 years, Raymond “Ray” Wesley Wilson, three daughters, Janet Horton, Paula (Michael) Albert, and Amy (Kevin) Dawson; 2 stepsons, Ronnie (Sandra) Wilson and Roger (Melissa) Wilson; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her twin sister and brother-in-law, Essie and Andrew Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her four sons, David Howell, Dennis Howell, James Howell, and Wesley Howell; two grandchildren, Jacob Howell and Sarah Horton; and seven of her siblings, William “Bill” Pack, Effie Jackson, Essie Johnson, Charlie Pack, Alfred Pack, Roscoe Pack, Yvonne Tilley, and Thelma Carns. Funeral services for Mrs. Wilson will be Thursday December 14, 2023, at 11:00am in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Mr. Ronnie Wilson and Reverend Dr. Larry May officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening December 13, 2023, from 6:00 until 8:00pm at Moody Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the staff of Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson for all of the love and support shown to Mrs. Wilson during her illness. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
