OTTAWA- Bessie Stennett, 90, of Ottawa, died on July 16, 2022, at her residence. She was born May 14, 1932, in Decoy, Kentucky to the late Oscar and Alifair (Wright) Miller. On July 31, 1952 she married Elijah Stennett, he preceded her in death on November 4, 2003.
Survivors include daughter-in-law: Diane Stennett of Ft Jennings; three grandchildren; Tonya (Nick) Verhoff of Columbus Grove, Jesse (Wendy) Stennett of Kalida, Sarah (Austin) Schroeder of Fort Jennings; fourteen greatgrandchildren; two brothers: Pearl (Norma) Miller of Lima and Carl (Sible) Miller of South Shore, KY.
She is proceeded in death by a son: Garry Stennett; a great-grandson Isaac Schroeder; three sisters: Hallie Early, Pherbie Gallion and Betty Jenkins; four brothers: Gordon, Jim, Glen and Ralph Miller.
Bessie worked at Phillips in Ottawa for 30 years. She loved Blue Grass music, her grandkids, great grandkids, her dogs and cat, and hanging with her girlfriends. She was a strong woman of faith.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday July 19, 2022, at Faith Baptist Church, Ottawa with Pastor Denny Coates officiating. Burial will follow in Harmon Cemetery, Gilboa. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Ottawa.
