Bessie Howard Stroud formerly of Fayetteville, North Carolina, was born on June 21, 1937, in Robeson County, North Carolina, to the late Emanuel Howard and Sarah Maclean Howard. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Emma Simons, Thomas Howard, Sarah Howard, Estella Howard Fuller, Emmanuel Howard, Delores Nolan, and George Howard; and her children: two daughters, Carolyn Howard and Margaret Ann Stroud. Bessie dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized in November 2008. She is remembered with love by her children: Robert Earl Howard (Brenda) of East Orange, New Jersey; Jerome Stroud of Newark, New Jersey; Charles Stroud (Toinetta) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and Faye Solomon of Columbia, South Carolina. Bessie is also survived by five sisters: Mattie Leach of Cameron, North Carolina; Zulu Baker (Eugene) of Irvington, New Jersey; Gertrude Walkins of Sanford, North Carolina; Lula Baker of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and Sadie Wilkerson of Raleigh, North Carolina. Her legacy continues through her six grandchildren-Loretta Foster, Malik Stroud, Justin Howard, Vicky Solomon, Odessa Solomon, Shavonnah Julious, and Jerome Stroud-as well as great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. The family expresses sincere gratitude for the support and comforting words received during this time of bereavement.
