Bessie Mae Taylor, age 51, passed away on Thursday February 28, 2024, at her residence in Forest, MS. Her visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 12:30 PM until 1:50 PM at Covenant Baptist Church in Forest, MS. Her services will take place at 2:00 PM at Covenant Baptist Church in Forest, MS. Her burial will follow at Taylor Family Cemetery in Forest, MS. Bro. Bobby Warren will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Bessie was born to George Robert Burnham and Wanda Rogers on July 4, 1972, in Meridian, MS. She was a lifelong resident of the Steele Community. Bessie was a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Forest, MS. She was an avid outdoorsman who loved gardening, fishing, camping, watching Wheel of Fortune and spending time with her family.
Bessie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eulis and Bessie Burnham and Opal and Earline Rogers. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Taylor of Forest, MS; her parents, George and Wanda Burnham of Forest, MS; her four sons, Westley Taylor (Jackie) of Forest, MS, Joshua Lee Taylor of Forest, MS, John Dustin Taylor (Hannah) of Forest, MS and Dail Lee Reid of Lake, MS; her brother, Robert L. Burnham of Forest, MS; her four grandchildren, Johnny Glenn Taylor, Bryleigh Joe Lynn Taylor, John Dalton Taylor and Claira Renae Taylor; one great grandson Asxton Lamar Williams and a host of other family.
Pallbearers will be Westley Taylor, Josh Taylor, John D. Taylor, Dail Lee Reid, Robbie Burnham and Robert Burnham. Honorary pallbearers will be Dillon Burnham, Andrew Jackson, Brendon Ogletree and Brandon Rogers.
