Bessie Mae Simelton Torrence, 75 of Mooresville, NC, born to the late William & Mary Simelton on November 5, 1949 was called to her heavenly home on November 1, 2025.
Bessie was a Dunbar High School alumni where she was once Alumni President. She later received an associate degree in Accounting from Mitchell Community College. She worked for Metric Construction as an administrative assistant for many years before she returned to Mooresville and married Bobby; a union that lasted nearly 30 years. After working as a cook and healthcare aid Bessie retired and in her later years honored her vow of in sickness and health where she cared for her husband, Bobby, until he was called home in 2024. Bessie loved life fun and laughter. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death in addition to her husband; her parents, William & Mary Simelton, sister Natalyn "Pudden" Shuford, brother, "Donnie" Simelton; her granddaughter Denesia A. Wilson, and brother John Thompson.
Left to cherish memories of her life, her children, daughters, Erica S. Beatty, Tara S. Dukes, sons Eric B. Simelton (Torie), Andrae M. Simelton, and Eduardo McConnico. She also leaves sixteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She also leave one sister Ora S. Carr of Mooresville, NC and a host of beloved nieces, cousins, and friends.
