Beth Cravens Obituary

Published by Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory - Greenwood Chapel on Oct. 21, 2020.
Beth Ann Cravens, 56 lived by the motto that life should not be a journey to the grave with intention of arriving safely in an attractive & well preserved body but rather skid in sideways, toes tapping to music, wild flowers in hand, body thoroughly worn out, and screaming "I LOVE YOUR GUTZ, WHAT A RIDE!" She was the daughter of Dr. Paul & Jean (Waggener) Cravens. She was born on May 29, 1964 in Indianapolis. She graduated from Baptist High School and went on to attend Ball State University. Her lifetime was filled with loving her family and longtime friends, which to her meant the same thing. It was the Cravens way. She excelled at being an inspirational daughter, sister, aunt, and dog mom. She is survived by her mother, Wilma Jean Cravens, brother in law, Gary Embree, and sister in law, Elaine Cravens. Nieces include: Sharla (Tony) Frazier, Shelly Cravens, Shawn (Chris) Bauer, Shannon (Steven) Barrick, Kim (Harry) Barton, and Bliss (Christian) Santiago. Nephews include Chris Cravens, Craig Cravens, and Ryan (Nikki) Cravens. She had 12 Great Nieces; Jaurden (Aaron) Hollenbaugh, Danielle Gard, Madeline Hubele, Abigail (Louis) Catellier, Alison Bauer, Ryan Bauer, Kayte (Ben) Mayes, Hannah Cravens, Dylann Cravens, Rhiannon Cravens, Ocean Santiago, and Taylor Barton and 4 Great Nephews; Keigan Cravens, Trevor Cravens, Kai Santiago, and Tyler Barton. She worked at AAA for 35 years. She had a passion in helping others no matter what the need may be. When her time ended with AAA it was unanswered prayer to our family as she chose to make those priceless memories with her mom in lieu of finding another job so that she could give her the at home care she deserves. They were already best friends and sometimes fought like sisters but looking back now, God sure knew that her mom was going to need to spend some accelerated time with her. To be brought up to have a tremendous work ethic, to smile and be kind to others, to wish happiness upon everyone you meet, and to radiate sunshine…these are the qualities seen, cherished, and now missed in Beth. She held onto the little things, you know the things that you can't take a picture of unless it resides in your memory. That reminds me of when she would say "Etch this moment." Every moment I have moving forward I will carry her graphed in my heart. Her humor and spontaneity is what I will miss most. It didn't matter where we were at or what we were doing she would break out in song and dance and everyone around would start to partake. She was infectious like that with her caring spirit. She was truly an artist when it comes to flowers. Her gardening skills were impeccable as she could grow nearly any vegetables or pair different flowers with one another. She knew exactly where to get the wild flowers that everyone loves. Most importantly she loved to garden and bring her mom fresh cut flowers to enjoy. It was the little things as she just wanted to see a smile come upon her mom's face. She is also known for her rock faces and rock painting. She has been painting stones far before it caught on recently over the past few years. We cherish these mementoes in her honor and are willing to share with those who would like to have one. So we focus on the good and making memories like Beth taught us. We don't take precious moments for granted. Her soul brought so much love to everyone she came in contact with. We are blessed that God picked us to be her family. The Cravens family has peace of mind knowing she is with all her siblings and her daddy. What a reunion! A Celebration of Beth's life will take place from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday November 1, 2020 at the Barn at Bay Horse Inn, 1468 W. Stones Crossing Road, Greenwood, IN 46143. Masks are required. http://barnatbayhorse.com/ If you simply want to do something to help Jean, and your compelled to contribute you may donate to the Cravens Memorial Fund in honor of Beth, Don, Sue and Phil. gofundme.com/f/cravensmemorial

My Sincere Sympathy to Jean & Family. Beth was such a Sweetheart & caring person, especially to my son Mike. I trust Beth & Mike are once again together. What they had here on earth was very special, I can only imagine what they have in Heaven. God Bless, my thoughts & prayers are with you & family.
